When: Thursday 8 February 2024
Time: 9:00am - 11:00am
Where: GESAC - 200 Boundary Road, Bentleigh East
Who: Any students in grades 4 - 6. They can choose to try out for any or all of the events.
​What: To determine the Elwood Swimming Team for the Balaclava District Swimming Carnival. All swimmers will also earn points for their house!

The events:
50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, 50m Breaststroke & 50m Butterfly.
The 2 fastest swimmers for freestyle & backstroke go through, however only 1 swimmer from breaststroke and butterfly will qualify for the district carnival.

There are also positions available in 4x50m freestyle relays for boys and girls and an open age medley relay team for both boys and girls. These teams are picked from the fastest times in the above events.

Please Note: All trialing students need to be able to swim 50m without stopping.

House Swimming Trophy:
All students who enter the trials will earn house points towards our Elwood PS house swimming trophy. The house with the most points from the trials takes out the trophy for that year.

Permission Form: Permission along with the payment needs to be completed using Xuno.

For the Balaclava District Swimming Event: students are only allowed to compete in a maximum of 2 individual events plus a relay. In the case of a student placing first in 3 or more events after our trials, they will have the opportunity to choose which 2 events they would like to compete in.

Please note: be aware that School Sports Victoria (SSV) rules state that nine year old swimmers cannot progress through to Division Swimming. They can only compete within District competitions.
